Collection: Black & Blue at Fruitvale Station

"Black & Blue at Fruitvale Station" Art on Canvas by Jessica Holter from the Art & Rhymes of Ghetto Girl Blue Collection.
Never forget.
This graphic depiction of the tall Oakland lawman, towering over young Black men, is a haunting visual memorial of BART commuter Oscar Grant, who was murdered on camera, and claimed he was reaching for his taser, and mistakenly used his gun. This solemn scene is also a reminder of a wide-reaching toxic stream of Black Male murders that have taken place in recent history, some say, in response to Black business and entertainment success and the appointment of the first Black President. Rally cries to "Make America Great Again" ensued, creating a resurgence of white supremacist ideology in the nation.
